Apocalypse is an eschatological film series of 4 franchise written and produced by brothers Peter and Paul LaLonde, the makers of the similar Left Behind series. Like the latter, the films were and produced and released by Cloud Ten Pictures. It focuses the events that take place during the Great Tribulation period after the Biblical Rapture. Although there are four films in the series, the only end-time events that are depicted in them are the Rapture, the War of Ezekiel 38-39, and the Mark of the Beast. The series' primarily follows characters Helen Hannah (Leigh Lewis), a reporter who becomes an Evangelical Christian following the rapture, and Franco Macalousso (played by Sam Bornstein in the first film, and Nick Mancuso in the following three films), the Biblical Anti-christ that claims to be the messiah and is the chancellor of the O.N.E. (One Nation Earth). Other cast members include Jeff Fahey, Gary Busey, Carol Alt, Tony Nappo, Howie Mandel, Margot Kidder, Corbin Bernsen, and Mr. T. The films were released direct-to-video between 1998 and 2001. There are four entries, not including a planned but ultimately cancelled fifth film. The films have generally received mixed-to-negative critical reception.

Prior to entering broadcasting, Trish Regan competed in beauty pageants, and proved she had what it took to win when she was crowned Miss New Hampshire in 1993. Competing in pageants is about more than just looking pretty, she told New Hampshire Magazine, adding,

"You have to be able to relate to lots of different people you have to be able to think on your feet and those are skills you learn in a pageant. Walking in high heels and a swimsuit is a skill unto itself. And one I don't miss."

While Miss New Hampshire, Regan vied to become Miss America. Although she didn't win, she did receive a special award for an operatic performance. Singing, in fact, is another of her talents, honed by studying voice at the New England Conservatory of Music. In 2018, Regan showcased her vocal abilities by airing a video of herself singing the U.S. national anthem during an episode of Trish Regan Primetime.

In addition to her role as a TV news anchor, Regan is also a wife and mother of three, and she's admitted it can be tough to strike the right work-life balance. In an interview with Serendipity, Regan shared some small steps she takes "to try to make it all work." One of those, she revealed, was to bring one of her children to work with her each Friday, in addition to trying to have one of them accompany her when she has to travel for business.
